Have A Ball At The Mall

Singapore is famous for its malls, at times making it seem that shopping is the only engaging activity for families. But what if we were to tell you that come summer break, Singapore malls across the board are rearing to combine shopping with entertainment and education. After we’re done with you, your kids will be begging you to take them to yet another mall!

 

 

Faber-Castell Art Festival

From 27 May to 4 June, the atrium at Marina Square will be offering several art activities for the entire family. Parents can admire the numerous artwork exhibited while kids can get ready to show off their inner Picassos at the interactive workshops. There will even be a colouring competition where all family members can participate. And of course your little ones will be sure to convince you to buy some Faber Castell supplies for the road. ART you excited?!

 

Ultimate REXventure

From 2-11 June (11am to 7pm), the Basement 1 Atrium of Forum Mall will be converted into the likes of Jurassic Park. Get ready for a prehistoric fun fest starting with an up close and personal encounter with T-Rex. Interactive games will transport you to the land of dinos as you put your shooting skills to test and hunt for dangerous species. Explore the fun of archaeology as you dig for fossils. There’s also a colouring corner for younger kids where they can proudly display their masterpieces.

 

 

Barney’s Birthday Surprise

This popular purple dinosaur is loved by kids young and old. Bring them to celebrate Barney’s birthday at United Square from 27 May-7 June where they can sing and dance while they’re enjoying the show. Parents, if you show a single same-day receipt of $50, your kiddies can enjoy some one-on-one time with the characters after the show. Get your cameras ready!

 

 

 

 

Totally Tropical Trip at Paragon Junior

Due to the ongoing super sales, summer is the best time to stock up on clothes and shoes for the little ones. Of course kids don’t carry the same sentiments as adults when it comes to shopping. Enter Paragon Junior’s brilliant stroke. From 3-4 June, look out for a glitter tattoo booth, instant photo printing and exclusive gifts which kids can redeem once they’ve completed an adventurous activity map. KidzPop PlayFest

While we are all screaming for ice cream, how about getting kids to learn about healthier snacking habits? From 16-18 June at Waterway Point, kids can engage in a variety of games and activities involving fun foods. They can even make their very own Paddle Pop ice cream!

 

 

Heroes Fest

From 31 May to 12 June, B2 at Takashimaya Square will be overrun by superheroes! Get ready to celebrate the summer holidays with live performances by some of your favorite cartoon characters. Watch girl power at its best as The Powerpuff Girls fight monsters. Follow Ben Tennyson and his Omnitrix on their thrilling adventures as they battle evil. DreamWorks will proudly present Po the panda and his awesome Kung Fu moves and the loveable characters from trolls Poppy and Branch who will spread their joy everywhere. And to top off all the fun, grab a scoop of mouth watering ice cream from the DC Café!

 

 

June School Holiday Party

School’s out so let’s get the party started! Parents, while you run your errands and complete your summer shopping at Takashimaya on June 4, sign your little ones (3 and above) up for 2 hours of fun playtime ($15). Limited to 150 participants, kids will be able to sing, dance and have a blast playing interactive games with an enthusiastic crew.

 

 

 

Shopkins ‘Live’ Show

If your kids have used up all their pocket money to buy these cheeky little figurines, they’re in luck. From 2-11 June, they can get to see life-size versions of their favorite shopkins dance on stage. Follow your kids to Suntec City North Atrium to party with Bubbleisha, Jessicake and all their friends.

 

 

Bookmarker Making

Summer is a great time to catch up on reading. Of course you will need a few bookmarks to mark your spot in all those books you are reading. On 18 June, kids can create their own unique bookmarks in a crafty workshop ($15) at the Little One’s Club in Takashimaya’s Children’s Department. Parents, no bonus points for reminding you to catch up on your shopping!

 

 

 

Pac-man and the Ghostly Adventures Challenge

Maybe your kids are too young to remember this obsession. But now is a great time to relive your memories with them by trekking through a life-sized Pac-man themed maze. From 19 to 25 June at YewTee Point, get those brain cells churning!

 

 

Soap Art

Kids can get really messy and dirty during summertime fun. Why not make clean up fun by teaching them to make their own soap? On 10 June, there is a very interesting and hands-on workshop ($8) held at The Little One’s Club in the Children’s Department at Takashimaya, where kids 3 and above can build up on their sensory skills. They will get to knead, mould, mix colours and scents to create their own piece of art made entirely of soap.

 

 

Stay Safe with Paw Patrol and Meet & Greet

Want your kids to get a crash course in safety lessons? From 26 May till 26 June, Paw Patrol will be gearing up for rescue missions at City Square Mall and your kids can join their team if they come dressed up as a Paw Patrol recruit. After the show, your little heroes can take pictures with Ryder, and their favorite pups, Chase, Marshall and Skye seeing as parents spend a minimum of $50 in the mall to redeem a Meet & Greet Pass.

 

 

RAWR! Dinosaurs Unearthed

Let’s get a little history lesson going. From 26 May to 11 June, bring the Jurassic era to life when you take the little ones to view giant animatronic dinosaurs at Plaza Singapura atrium. When they are finished oohing and aahing over the display figures, kids can head over to the activity zone to learn and tinker with electronics as they make some models of their own.

 

Celebrate with Hi-5

If your kids love moving and grooving to this Australian kid-geared pop group, they are in luck! From 9-14 June, Hi-5 will be showing off their best stuff at United Square. So as their song goes, “Stop What You’re Doing Right Away!”
