Founded over 55 years ago, the Singapore Ballet Academy (SBA) is THE place to go for serious ballerinas given the meticulous training they provide and their reputation for instructing students who have been accepted into renowned international dance schools. They follow the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus and prepare their students for RAD exams. The SBA offers classes for kids starting at the age of 4 and they also have an all-male ballet class. They organise a concert every two years and also have a youth performance group (YPG) for which students must audition.

If the typical ballet and tap dance classes don't tickle your kids fancy, maybe a little cha-cha, rock and roll, foxtrot or something more enticing from the host of ballroom, Latin and social dance classes at the John & Josephine dance creative studio might appeal to them. John & Josephine Dance Creative was created nearly two decades ago by this dynamic duo of dancers. Their studio offers both group and private dancing lessons to kids as young as 5 years old. The instructors are passionate about their work and encourage their students to foster a more positive attitude and explore their own self-expression.

Jitterbugs Swingapore believes dance should be a holistic experience and requires students to take up at least two genres of dancing (from ballet, tap and jazz) if not three. Classical ballet is required for all students and they can choose either tap or jazz as the second genre. To progress to the next level the students must clear their CSTD exams. All students are encouraged to take part in their annual performance. Students are also selected to take part in local and international competitions regularly.
